Engaging Diversity and Equality in the Creative Campaign Process

π‘ The consideration of differences is critical and pervasive in the creative campaign process. Diversity and equality can be especially overlooked in regards to thinking about prejudice from a positive standpoint, which is often a 'blind spot' of the industry. I address some of the basic challenges of creating campaigns that include diverse people, culture and ways of thinking from both a planning and executing standpoint through real-life examples. Ultimately, these are things that need to be considered from the start, not added at the end or reworked on.
βTraditional advertising is rapidly losing its effectiveness. This is our attempt to assist the progression of marketing efforts through diversity and equality by offering a new type of campaign experience in which those who feel overlooked or held back by the marketing world can show their skills, be affirmed, and enjoy fair pay for their work.
π€ Diversity and equality refers to the presence of different views, backgrounds, and identities in the workplace, which contributes to innovation. It challenges biases, reduces the chance of making mistakes or overlooking important information and helps build bridges across cultures. Diversity requires getting uncomfortable. It requires us to face things we might not like about ourselves and others, and it reflects the real world, where most people have a variety of differing identities and values and experiences. And yet most agencies often overlook this aspect.
