Radical Success Principles - My reflections of Mentoring, Training and Consulting
My reflections on Mentoring, Training and Consulting work. Hear me out ……
Be careful that you are not being pulled into rescue someone’s karma season
Over the last month, while upskilling myself and reviewing common trends, it occurred to me…
Often we can;
feel immobilised to take action
have resistance to making steps for improvement
had access to all of the tools and resources
lack of persistence and consistency
have a lack of self-accountability
fail to make time for self-reflection
act on emotions ( our emotions are temporary and interchangeable)
So often
As a Coach, Mentor, parent, Trainer, friend etc, we can move into wanting to overreach, save, support, help, guide and, of course all acts have their rightful place. I am vested in supporting clients; however, they will never take the place of the work that one will need to take in showing up for themselves.
I now realise I can only ever offer the;
tools
support
training
space
curriculum
work as guide
Ultimately I can not do the work for someone, we all have to experience the pivotal moment of ‘shifting’ and have to at any given time have;
commitment
clarity
a plan
consistency
self-reliance
motivation
This isn’t about stance from a place of ‘I told you so’. In my experience, on the contrary, it is focused on mastery, critical self-feedback, mastering your experience, intuition and skillset to support your growth, personal and career journey.
My reference to Karma here is ;
Karma = results of action and the reward in direct proportion to accountability
Karma, for me, is good and bad if we are constantly trying to rescue our partners, clients, peers, and team we are perhaps blocking their opportunities to grow or experience a consequence that we may gain from;
Self-accountability
Growth
Mindset shifting
Management of emotions
Resonance with the nervous system
Critical feedback
Self-reflection
Goal attainment
Behaviour correction
Forming new habits
Setting a plan
Life long lessons
Personal Integrity
Listening to their intuition
In my experience, we evolve the mindset and skillset for life enhancement and career progression.
